Does Flow Studio App store my data? Do you have access to my personal data or my flow data?
Please refer to our Personal Data page for the details.
How do I use Flow Studio to revert to a previous version of my flow?
What is a "Snapshot" that uses a flow's previous run history so a maker can revert their Flows to an earlier version?
Flow Studio App reads the flow's previous runs, which includes the definition of the flow at that point in time, to build a restore to that previous run's snapshot. Therefore the concept is neither a backup of the definitions nor history, but a snapshot from the runs.
I tried to restore my Flow using Snapshot but encountered errors. What should I do?
The most common error that a Flow can't be reverted from a Snapshot is because the connection is missing.
To overcome this, try adding an action related to the source (any action would do) to establish the connection on the current Flow. And then, use Flow Studio to reverse the flow definition to an earlier version. As now your latest version of the flow has the correct connection reference, the flow definition can be restored correctly.

What is Flow Studio MCP?
Flow Studio MCP is an independent MCP server (Model Context Protocol) for Microsoft Power Automate. It lets AI agents like GitHub Copilot, Claude, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and OpenAI Codex read, debug, build, and govern Power Automate cloud flows from natural language. The hosted endpoint is https://mcp.flowstudio.app/mcp, authenticated by API key in the x-api-key header. Free Starter plan: 100 evaluation calls over 21 days, no credit card.
How do AI agents build Power Automate flows with Flow Studio MCP?
You describe what you want in plain English. The AI agent calls list_live_connections to discover connectors in your environment, describe_live_connector and get_live_dynamic_options to resolve dropdown values such as SharePoint site IDs and Teams channel IDs, then constructs the Workflow Definition Language JSON and deploys via update_live_flow. Total round-trip is roughly 30 seconds from prompt to deployed flow. See Build Power Automate flows with AI agents for a worked 3-step example.
Can Claude work with Power Automate via Flow Studio MCP?
Yes. Claude Code (the Anthropic Claude CLI plus VS Code extension), Claude Desktop, and any Claude surface that supports the Model Context Protocol can connect to Power Automate via Flow Studio MCP. Three install paths: install the Power Automate MCP for Claude Code extension from the VS Code Marketplace, run claude mcp add via the CLI, or edit Claude Desktop's config file. See Claude for Power Automate with Flow Studio MCP for the full setup.
Can GitHub Copilot work with Power Automate via Flow Studio MCP?
Yes. Install the Power Automate MCP Server VS Code extension. GitHub Copilot Chat in VS Code picks up the MCP server automatically and gains access to 30+ Power Automate tools plus 5 official Copilot skill bundles listed on github.com/github/awesome-copilot. See GitHub Copilot for Power Automate with Flow Studio MCP for the full setup.
Can Microsoft Copilot Studio work with Power Automate via Flow Studio MCP?
Yes. In your Copilot Studio agent, open the Tools tab, click Add a tool, select Model Context Protocol, set Server URL to https://mcp.flowstudio.app/mcp, Authentication to API key, Type to Header, Header name to x-api-key. Publish to Microsoft Teams or M365 Copilot, and every M365 Copilot user in your tenant gets access with no per-user install. See Copilot Studio for Power Automate with Flow Studio MCP for the full setup.
How does Flow Studio MCP compare to the MCP server in Microsoft Power Platform CLI?
They serve different problems. The MCP server in Microsoft Power Platform CLI wraps the pac CLI for app, solution, and environment lifecycle from your dev workstation; it is local-stdio and scoped to local development and testing. Flow Studio MCP focuses on Power Automate cloud flow lifecycle: read run history with action-level inputs and outputs, debug failed runs, build new flows from natural language, and govern flows tenant-wide; it is cloud-hosted HTTP. The two are complementary; AI agents can register both in the same session. See the full comparison.
Can Flow Studio MCP debug a failed Power Automate flow run?
Yes. Flow Studio MCP exposes get_live_flow_run_action_outputs which returns inputs, outputs, and errors at every action level, including loop iterations and nested child flows. The Microsoft Graph API only returns top-level run status (Succeeded, Failed, Running), which is why AI agents without Flow Studio MCP often cannot find the actual cause of a flow failure. Your AI agent reads the action-level error, identifies the root cause, and can propose or apply a fix.
How much does Flow Studio MCP cost?
Free Starter plan: 100 evaluation calls over 21 days, no credit card. Pro: $29 per month for 500 calls (optional overage at $0.10 per call). Pro+: $99 per month for 3,000 calls plus tenant-wide governance store and monitoring features (optional overage at $0.05 per call). Flow Studio Pro and Teams subscribers receive 100 bundled MCP calls per month. See mcp.flowstudio.app for current pricing.
